DST Technologies Secures IBM Validation for its Business Process Management Solution
KANSAS CITY, MO. (May 31, 2005) – IBM has validated
the Automated Work Distributor™ (AWD®) as “Ready for
WebSphere.” The designation indicates that AWD can be integrated
with IBM’s WebSphere application server technology.
AWD is a leading business process management (BPM) solution from DST
Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of DST Systems, Inc. (NYSE: DST).
IBM WebSphere is the market-leading Internet infrastructure software,
or middleware, for building, running and integrating business applications
across a variety of computing platforms. Integration of these technologies
will leverage the respective market leadership positions of IBM and DST
in delivering best-in-class solutions to key industries.
With the certification, AWD can function as a component of the WebSphere
middleware stack, thereby providing WebSphere customers easy access to
AWD BPM components. In addition, AWD customers will be able to take advantage
of the strengths of the WebSphere infrastructure and better interoperate
with other applications in a J2EE environment.
To achieve “Ready for WebSphere” certification, DST worked
with IBM developers to test the two companies’ solutions at the
IBM competency centers, and verified completion of the “Ready for
WebSphere” criteria. This pre-validation by IBM is intended to
minimize risk and accelerate time to value for the companies’ joint
customers.
“Many companies in our target markets have chosen WebSphere as
their standard application server environment,” said Rick Welch,
AWD Product Manager for DST. “Integrating AWD with the IBM WebSphere
infrastructure will enable these customers to recognize the business
benefits of AWD within the context of their existing technology frameworks.”
